The Best Movie

It starts with a great hook, like the Big Bang!

It needs time to make you feel the reality. High definition, all the emotions of real life in the same proportions. The people should be very nice to look at but not in a way that makes you think they aren’t everyday regular people you could see on the street. They should do something really cool that most people you know would want to do, this includes: flying, talking to animals, and being in love. It should feel like they’re really doing those things though, no ‘suspension of disbelief’ here. That is easier when you have more money. If you don’t have money it’s okay, do as much as you can and people will still like it. Then do it better later when you have money.

There should be as many tones as possible: playful, important, joyous, melancholy, chaotic, rageful, funny. You can fit more in by doing multiple at the same time. Don’t forget boring though, lots of tasteful boring. There should be times of abstraction, particularly when you’re getting to the climax. The main “theme” should be as universal as you can possibly get while still feeling really important: birth, sex, death. It’s really complicated and really simple. It’s one thing. The climax of the film should feel as intense as you can make it, no matter what. Do it.

After the climax there should be a gentle easing-out. It was overwhelming in a good way and now it’s time for a period of rest and reflection. We’re mostly done but you need to see how it effects the world. It’s a mirror of the beginning, in some ways…
